This simulator includes anatomical models of the left atrium and ventricle, capable of producing contractions independently, in order to obtain physiological and\/or pathological flow conditions (heart rate, flow, pressure).&nbsp; A fluid of the same viscosity as blood is set in motion by the complementary actions of contractions of the atrial and ventricular cavities, and the opening and closing movements of the aortic and mitral valve prostheses. Experienced engineers perform all <em>in vitro<\/em> tests as well as <em>in silico<\/em> analyses. All experiments are supervised by a team of experts from the Institut&#8217;s multidisciplinary cardiology department.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-stereo-section-bloc section-block-normal\"><div class=\"wp-block-stereo-section__container\"><div class=\"wp-block-stereo-section__col is-layout-flow wp-block-stereo-section-bloc-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Facilities &amp; Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The <em>in vitro\/in silico<\/em> platform includes:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An anatomical silicone replica of the left heart with viscoelastic characteristics close to physiological reality (left ventricle, left atrium and aorta);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Devices that reproduce the resistance and compliance of the systemic network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two plunger pump who allows the ventricular and left atrium to be controlled;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An electronic flowmeter for measuring the valve flow rate;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Piezoelectric pressure sensors (catheter) to measure pressures in the heart chambers and in the aorta;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A clinical cardiovascular ultrasound system for speed measurements in continuous, pulsed and flow Doppler mode;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two high-speed cameras for 2D and 3D analyses of the kinetics and deformation of the leaflets;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A 3D printer (multi-material) to manufacture a wide variety of valves and cardiac chambers normal and pathological.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our expertise and services offered:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hemodynamic measurements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Echocardiography (speed, transvalvular pressure, effective valve area&#8230;);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transvalvular flow rates and pressures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measurements using the high-speed camera:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Geometric orifice area (GOA) \u2013 valve planimetry as a function of time;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Pin wheeling index&#8221; &#8211; calcul of localized deformations of the free edge of the leaflet when closing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measurement using two high-speed cameras:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Displacement and deformation of the valve leaflets during the cardiac cycle using the system of stereometry and image
